Show Transcript
Cornelia Cornelia Center is just such a special place at our school we know that there aren't limitations for our students and that means is accepting them for who they are I think at CCC were very intentional about everything that we do one of a kind in New York state just being a place where girls are able to reach a potential that was already inside of them and I keep hearing that we are the best kept secret and we don't want to be the best-kept secret anymore we want to shout from the rooftop that we are New York City's only independent Catholic girls school and we want your students to be here we know that we can't just jump into learning in the morning we have to check in with our students we start our day with our morning assembly meeting our students where they are at really just means that they are seen they are heard that in that assembly every teacher and every student is named there's something about that that matters deeply good morning Arianna good morning Penelope good morning Kelly thank you Ms. Sachs and great message massage good morning Serenity good morning and great message Ms.Sachs good morning Ms. Sachs God has blessed us with so many things and they shine through with children most often in their joyfulness it's great to have a job to help students to flourish to really Embrace those gifts I see Joy by praying by singing I see Joy everywhere in the school like every little place that you might not see it I also feel like having prayer ending with prayer also incorporates the the part of religion and morality setting the tone for the rest of the day I chose to send her to a faith based school little because being a part of the Church community it just means so much more to us our mission is to ensure that all of our girls have access to the education that they deserve we live that mission and realize that and an excellent holistic education and we feel that art and music and dance and athletics is just as important as math and reading and science and history all of these pieces that we have all are about helping her to be her full self the teachers go out of their way to give me more challenging things and make sure that I'm always learning and so I can always take care of this is just something that I really like you know the class sizes at CCC they do have the opportunity to have two teachers that are able to be more attentive to the students it's about educating the whole child and really making sure that her humanity is honored her goodness is honored my favorite part of the day is sometimes you hear them singing in the hallway and the laughing and it's just it's just so much joy walking in through the doors at CCC I just felt wow this is the place Every student that enters our building has a future that she can imagine whatever future that maybe we're here to support that strengthen it and we will make sure that their dreams become our dreams I stand with confidence I stand up for my community I stand for my friends I stand for resilience I cant wait for the next chapter of my life I can change the world CCC it doesn't stop when they graduate in the 8th grade but it goes all the way while they're in high school while they're in College in whatever pathway does that they're taking they're being supported and and loved the graduate support program has supported me in a lot of ways I still talk to like most of the teachers here even though I'm a senior high school they've sat down with me and like walk me through the forms the financial aid process has been especially difficult but the graduate support program has made sure that I'm not by myself what I love about CCC is the value of Sisterhood having a Sister by that's always there for you no matter what really really good people that is what the sustains CCC I hope that CCC continues to expand and I hope it continues to pave for other schools and help other young young women the way that it was able to help me
