Connelly Middle School of the Holy Child

We are an independent, Catholic middle school offering a high-quality education to girls of all faiths from Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Intentionally small, we serve approximately 64 girls from low-income families in grades five through eight. Tuition is nominal, currently $55 per month.

Individual attention and challenging academics are hallmarks of our program. We seek to inspire the good habits of heart, mind and spirit that will empower our students to attend competitive high schools, graduate in four years and aspire to college educations.

In addition to a strong Literacy Program, highlights of the curriculum include:

Fine Arts Program
All students have lessons in dance, drama, music or visual arts twice a week throughout the school year. Arts instruction enables them to develop self-confidence and express their individuality. It also fosters focus, concentration and commitment as well as enhancing social and language skills.

Extended Day Program
This period, at the end of every day, provides time for students to get started on homework in a quiet and safe environment. Teachers are available for additional instruction and tutoring. Resources such as the library, computers, and art supplies are also available. Students also have the opportunity to participate in seasonal sports such as Track and Basketball and extracurricular activities such as the Gardening Club and Student Council.
